Columbus Country Living Fair

Well, WOW, is all I can say to describe this past weekend. Columbus is always a busy show , but this one tops them all. Our neighbors were great , the weather was fantastic and the shoppers were out in full force.  Everything just came together, what a blessing!
The Atlanta CL Fair is the end of October, so it's back to busy, busy, busy for us. If  you are in the Atlanta, GA area October 26th , 27th or 28th, come by the fair.  You won't be disappointed.  There are always alot of great vendors, demonstrations and good food. The fair is at Stone Mountain Park , which is just beautiful this time of year.
Just want to leave you with a few pictures of our booth from the fair. Until next time.........

 Great Spring Shows

Well, April and May were crazy to say the least.  It started with The Country Living Fair in Austin Tx and ended with The Vintage Marketplace in Springfield, Ohio. Both shows were GREAT. Lots of wonderful vendors, shoppers and friends
At the Austin show , Tim's mom, Alice went with us. This was her first Country Living Fair and boy did she get a work out.  She also makes the great messenger bags that we take.  Since it was  the first Tx CL show, we didn't know what to expect.  But we were not disappointed.  The crowds were huge and so friendly.  I think everyone  was a little disappointed over the lack of food vendors, but this will be corrected and next year's show will be even better.
The VintageMarketplace in Springfield was May18th thru the 20th.  Tim and I did this show by ourselves.  This was the fist time for The Vintage Marketplace at the Springfield Extravaganza.  The show was awesome and the sales were great.  Sue Whitney , of Junk Market Style, gave the show her special touch.  This show will just keep getting better.
Now , that the shows are over , I get to relax .  Well, maybe just a little bit.  I do have two booths to keep up with, my Etsy shop and oh yeah, stockpiling for those two big Country Living Fairs in the fall. That means auctions , flea markets and junk shopping which I LOVE to do. So I will close with a few pics from the shows.

A Shopper's Dream

If you  are a shopper of junk, vintage , antiques, handmade, plants, repurposed,  uniques or just about anything else you can think of , then you need to head for Springfield, Ohio this weekend.  It is time for the Springfield Extravaganza, a huge indoor/outdoor show that is one of the largest in the country.   This event is held at the Clark County Fairgrounds.    A new addition at the Extravaganza will be the Vintage Marketplace, featuring Sue Whitney of Junk Market Style,  FOLK Magazine and a fabulous group of vendors. Of course, Gathered Comforts will  be there showing our " gatherings"and we have a trailer full loaded and ready to go.
All the fun starts Friday May 18th and continues through Sunday.  Early bird shopping starts the show at 7AM on Friday and there are fun events and demonstrations daily. Oh yeah, don't forget about all the SHOPPING.  So start dreaming of all the great goodies you are going to find . If you dream really big,  you might even have to dream of a bigger vehicle to get it all home in.  Hope to see you there.

Everything Changes......

Well it is official, my sister Julie has left the full-time job of "gathering " to take a cushy position at a local insurance office. Yes, I miss her. But as they say, the show must go on.  Julie will still be making her great , highly scented candles and her fabulous jewelry to send with us to the shows. When I say us , I'm referring to my side-kick and husband of 28 years, Tim.  If you have ever been to any of our shows, you have probably seen him.  He always helps with set-up and everything else we needed.  Tim also does a lot of the repurposing, painting .etc.  He has even started going to the auctions with me.  Tim and I did our first "craft show" about 30 years ago, before we were married.  We have been doing this on and off for a long time.  It's how we funded our son's adoption 22 years ago. Yes, junk and repurposing can make a lot of wonderful things possible. Who knew!!

Well we have been working like crazy to get ready for the Country Living Fair in Austin ,Tx April 27, 28 and 29 .  Then it's on to Springfield, Ohio for the Vintage Marketplace May 18, 19, and 20.  I will leave you with a couple of pics of some of the things we have been working on.
Until next time,
Shannon
